How many yards of fabric would i need to make a quilt that measures 55 inches across and 66 inches down?

If you don't want a seam in the middle I suggest you look for double width fabric. Most fabrics are 54" wide but double width come at 110". The double width can be used for the 66" and hems and then you only need 2 yards for the 54" part with seams.
